Going into business or doing something new is very challenging to many individuals. There are thoughts that can lead to stagnation, quitting before starting, and quitting in the middle of something new or when in the middle of going into business. What is one thing you can learn form successful people? How can you copy their success and get your own success on the road? What do you need to realize or acknowledge before starting anything new? Do you have an entrepreneur’s mindset? How is encouragement and failure related? Let’s see where you might fit in.

Going into business or starting something new
I’m sure almost everyone had thoughts of trying something new or have had a business idea that drives him/her with excitement. As you start to think about this new something or business idea, you would develop positive encouragement. Some of you would tell a friend or a family member about your new idea. They might give you a positive or negative feedback if they are honest. If they are jealous, they might try to steer you away from doing it.
Let’s say that you have this business idea that only you know. You would try to do some research on it and start to write your plans on how you are going to put them together to build it. After you think that you have everything that you need, you go into critical thinking. One thing that will come up for sure when starting a business is financial assessment on the business. And if you need employees, the thoughts of management will follow. But before you start any business, you should be ready to accept risks. It is important that you have that in mind no matter how small or big of the risks will be.
Besides business ideas, if you are starting a new program to better yourself, you might have to put in personal time to accomplish your goal. Some people spend hundreds or thousands of dollars just to get into a program for self-improvement. At the time of purchasing the program for self-improvement, their courage level was so high that the person was sold by the hyped infomercial. In fact this happens all the time no matter where you’re at, year after year.

Thoughts that lead to stagnation or quitting
So now you have this plan all set up and ready for your business. Your action plan is to secure financial budget to start the business so that you can get situated with possibly some equipment and employees to help you run it. You go to your first bank and ask for a loan. Your credit status was excellent, but the bank still decline your loan request. The bank might have many excuses about not lending you the loan for the business like not enough credit history, it’s your first business, or you are asking for too much. The feeling of being rejected by a bank to start this business which you have put together, might make you quit right there and then. Or you might be hesitant to go further or causing you to be stagnant ongoing forward with the business. Failure might settled in your mind with no repeats.
For those who have the courage to start a new program for self-improvement, might have the courage to buy it, but not go through with it. Some people would buy the new self-improvement program, and find themselves having time issues. Weeks would pass and the program would be a keeper for self gratification. Time for self-improvement was not what you’ve expected. Stagnation kicks in and self-improvement will have to wait. You might think that was a failure, because time was needed do the self-improvement. You then went back watching TV. Sounds familiar?
Learn and copy from successful people
can’t think of anyone who were or are very successful without going through failures first. Look at the very top 1% of all successful people for example. For them quitting was/is not an option, but failure was accepted. They would have the courage to relaunch their ideas numerous times and failed miserably before succeeding.
Most successful people would tell you that their ideas were the best ideas ever, regardless of how many failed attempts they’ve had before their idea become that special one. They truly have one thing in common, and that is to learn from their failure. They would take their failed ideas and tweak them, then retest them, and if failed again, do the process all over again until they succeed. Or perhaps they might save the core idea, but change everything else.
How are encouragement and failure related?
Encouragement and failure are related in many ways. I’ve seen people who have the courage to do many things, and failed after trying to do those things. You might be encouraged by others to be a doctor. After going through the first four years of undergraduate degree program at a university, you find that you are failing terribly as you try to keep up your grades to qualify for med school. You then find out that it is not for you and proceed to do something like computer programming and succeeded.
From the above, encouragement to do something is one thing and failure to do what was encouraged, was accepted. You then moved on and become a successful person. You didn’t just quit. You find your way of success. Anyone can be encouraged whether by his/herself or by someone to do something, but if they do not succeed in doing what was encouraged, he/she would learn from that and would try something else that he/she can succeed in.
Conclusion
I have to admit that I have failed in many business opportunities. Most of them were from hyped and infomercials that at the time didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I’ve spent thousands of dollars just to fail, as I now see it. Failure was expected. But I’ve also learned a lot, including how these business opportunities work. I didn’t let that stop me, I continued to look for other legit businesses to venture in. You have to understand that there are no quick ways to get rich. You have to put in the work to get something solid and reliable. Infomercials with hyped up messages about a business should be avoided. The business might look easy and good to be a part of, but you will have to do the work to be successful.
If you have failed in a business and didn’t quit as you seek a better business, then you understand something. You are actually learning and building yourself a stronger business mind. If you have failed in a business and you quit without seeking another, you might find that as not suitable for you, which would probably set you back doing what you were doing before getting into business. Where do you stand in all this? Have you ever failed in a business and still trying to seek out the best business opportunity? Do you find failing was your last or final attempt and quit all together?

Hello Lesley,
I am happy for you, that you were able to get something from this article. This article’s intention was to help others who might have given up completely on something they have failed on. The road can be curvy and sometimes bumpy, but in the end, all that matters, is that you reach your set destination. Take care.
This is a very powerful post that is well and truly backed by some experience that you have had personally in the past. And there is no better teacher than experience. Well, I agree with you here that encouragement and failure actually are related and we should always struggle to get what we are encouraged to do but when we can’t go on anymore, we should arrive for our true path.
Hello Payton,
Most people see themselves as a failure after trying out something and not succeeding. The courage to do something should be a learning lesson regardless if it was a failure or not. I appreciate you comments. Thank you.
